Nativity

It's Black Friday!
How many of you braved the stores at the crack of dawn or even earlier to shop?  My husband and I have braved the hordes of shoppers several times.  He is a trooper.  He usually finds a spot in line while I shop.  I really hate crowds.  So black Friday shopping was always very stressful for me.  Gotta find that deal though, right?
I learned several years ago that you can often get the deals that are in the stores online.  So I will be sitting in my pj's and sipping hot chocolate while shopping online.

This card is my reminder of what the season is all about.
I decided to keep the design simple because I really wanted to focus on the image.
This is one of my favorite Penny Black stamps.  Such a sweet scene with the holy family
and the animals.

YUCK!

Here is what it looks like today.

Panda Tear Bear

I made my very first tear bear today.
Need to practice some more but I think he turned out pretty darn cute!
My niece loves pandas so this Christmas card is for her.
And of course, I made an easel card.  I think I am addicted to those right now.
I really didn't need any more Christmas cards since I have plenty for this year but I
just had to make my niece this one.
In January I will share my system that helped me
get all of my Christmas cards done and ready to be  mailed BEFORE Thanksgiving.
All it takes is a little organization to get you started.
You will still see Christmas cards on my blog until the week before Christmas.  I spread
out my blog posts so that I have Christmas projects to share for awhile.

Decorating the Tree

I spent an entire Saturday earlier this month working on Christmas cards.
I managed to complete about 14 cards.  Too bad that is just a little dent
in the cards I need to make for the holidays.
I used one of my favorite card shapes for this one.
It is cut from the Life's A Party Cricut cartridge

Sliver and Blue Snowman

I love snowmen and I think the face on this guy is just so cute.
I wanted to make his scarf and hat look silvery so I first colored them
with T1, T4 copics and then painted with extreme glitter paint.  I love
the way it turn out.  I stamped and embossed around the edge and then
got out my Snow Tex to add some snow to the ground, when I opened the
jar, I discovered it was all dried up.  I must not have put the lid on tight.
Anyway, I added water to the jar to see if I could "revive" it and thank goodness
that worked!  The snowflakes were cut out of this fabulous silver cardstock I found
at Michael's.  It was a little pricey but it cuts beautifully with the spellbinders dies.

Blue Birthday

I am having fun making easel cards.  This one is for my sister-in-law's birthday
Blue is her favorite color and I just love this pattern paper with the blues and browns. I bough several sheets of it a few years ago and I was thrilled to find this blue/gray paper in my stash that matches.
I used chunky white and antique white embossing enamel on the card.  I decided to see what it would do if I added some of the embossing enamel to the flowers.  I was afraid the flowers wouldn't hold up to the heat while using the heat gun but they turned out great!
Here is a close up of the flower

If Kisses Were Snowflakes

The new challenge at Aud Sentiments is to create a "Feminine" project.  We are sponsored by Sassy Studio Designs for this challenge and their images are just perfect for anything feminine.
I had this container sitting in my craft room for a year now.  It used to hold
Christmas snacks.  I decided to alter it slightly and give it to my husband for Christmas.
I created the sentiment myselft using word and some free Christmas fonts I found.
The silver snowflakes were cut using the spellbinders snowflakes dies.  I found this wonderful heavy silver cardstock at Michaels that is called mirror cardstock.  The snowflakes cut beautifully from that paper.

Peace

I saw a twisted easel card with a tea light on Pintrest.
It was so pretty and I just had to give it a try. I found a wonderful
tutorial at Dawns Stamping Studio called Christmas Peek a boo easel card.
I followed her dirctions but did change the size of my card
because the stamp I wanted to use was larger.
My card measures 4.5 x 6
I don't own any of the stampin up supplies she used so I used my
spellbinders dies to cut out the circles.  I am saving the circles for another project.
I wish I was able to get a decent picture showing the candle glowing behind the vellum.
Trust me when I say it is Beautiful!

Card Details:
